What is Restylane Kysse?
Restylane Kysse joins the rest of the Restylane family of fillers and is specifically approved for use in the lips. Kysse is a Hylaluronic Acid filler. Hylaluronic Acid is a substance that is present in the body tissues already. As we grow older, our body produces less HA. Add that to the change in texture of our skin and the bone loss we have as we age, and you’ll start to see why it’s so hard to keep the wrinkles and fine lines at bay!

Can I use Kysse in an area besides the lips?
How long does Restylane KYSSE last?
We are still waiting on the official launch information from Galderma. Kysse is similar to Restylane Refyne and Defyne, which have 1-year indication so we think it’s safe to say that Kysse will fall into that same category of 1 year indication.
How is Kysse different from other fillers on the market?
Kysse is a HA filler that uses Galderma’s XpresHAn technology, so it is most similar to Restylane Refyne and Defyne. It is nestled in-between the two based on the amount of crosslinking it contains. Galderma’s Xhpresion crosslinking technology, also called OBT in Europe, allows the product to stretch because it is integrated with your tissue. Your filler will move with you as you laugh and speak.
Do I need a skin test for Restylane Kysse?
Restylane Kysse is made from Hylauronic acid. Since HA is naturally occurring in the body, an allergy test, or skin test, is not needed. As always, our Experts will sure we are selecting the right product based on your medical history and any allergies you may have.
Can I use Restylane Kysse in another area?
While Kysse is approved for the lips, many cosmetic injectables can be used “off label” for another area. Kysse tends to have a more natural and softer look, so it may not be the best choice for some areas. Your experienced injector will help you find the best product for you.
Do filler injections with Kysse Hurt?
Well, at our office we always quip that “pretty hurts,” but the discomfort is very minimal. There is Lidocaine in Restylane Kysse so that the area becomes numb as we inject. Also, note that at RR Aesthetics we also use smaller needles to do our precise expert injections. If you are still concerned, we also have the option of using a topical numbing cream to numb the area prior to injections. We want to do what makes you the most comfortable!
What is recovery like?
As with an injection, your lips will likely be tender and may have some bruising or swelling after your Kysse injections.
Is Restylane Kysse safe?
Yes! Kysse has also been used in Europe under the name Evervel Since 2010. One of the safety benefits is that Kysse is an HA filler. This means you can use a dissolver if you need to remove it. A skilled injector can walk you through how this dissolver works and help you is you need correction. And finally, Galderma, the company that brought you Kysse in the US, has a long-standing history of proven safety and efficacy in its injectables.
