Are Restylane Silk and Restylane the same?
They are similar as they are both made of Hylauronic acid. HA is a substance that is already contained in your body. As we age, our body produces less HA then when we were younger. This causes the wrinkles to form from volume loss.
How are Restylane & Restylane Silk different?
To give you the scientific answer … they different in gel particle sizes. What does that mean to you the layperson? It allows us to use Silk in small fine lines as the gel particle is smaller and will not make the area look bulky or ovrfilled. It has a softer texture and can fill in even the smallest of fine lines.
Do Restylane Silk hurt?
Restylane silk contains lidocaine just as Restylane and Perlane do. Lidocaine helps to reduce the pinch of the injections. We are also happy to have you arrive early for your appointment and we can apply topical numbing cream to help lessen the sting. We also have stuffed animals and squeese toys available in case you want to hold ontight to something!
All in all … we can make you experience almost pain free!
How long do Restylane and Perlane injections last?
Since the gel particle is smaller with Restylane Silk and the product is usually used in active areas (around the mouth and lips) we do see a bit of a shorter treatment window. We typically say about 6 months until the product is gone completely so make your touch up appointment about every four months to stay on top of your smile!
What should I expect?
The procedure is very easy and almost pain free. Do know that bruising is possible with any injection. Restylane silk uses a smaller needle them most HA so their could be less bruising then other fillers. If you do get a bruise, you can use a little cover up. A bruise typically dissipate in about 4-7 days.
Is Restylane Silk safe?
Yes – the manufacturer Galderma is a pharmaceutical company specializing aesthetics and corrective products. They have an excellent reputation worldwide. Furthermore the other members of the Restylane silk family, Restylane and Perlane, have been on the market for more than 10 years
Rand may recommend more than one type of facial filler to get you the results you want.
