With the release of Juvederm Voluma XC, we have a giant leap forward in facial filler treatments for the mid-face area.
In the past, when we were bothered by a wrinkle or line, we would fill in that line or wrinkle with collagen. The collagen days are long gone; and thankfully so are the days of overfilling certain sections of the face. Today, we use a range of fillers that help us achieve better results that were unthinkable in the past. For the last 10 years, I have been taking into account how one section of the face relates to the other; being able to replace volume loss in the midface allows us to also make great improvements to the lower face. Support of the mid face helps lift the skin and assist in treating the wrinkles and lines that we hate in our lower face. I’ve been doing this with other Hylauronic Acids (HAs) and fillers for many years. Now there is an HA filler that is finally approved just for this. Voluma is the only Hylauronic Acid Facial Filler to be approved by the FDA for midface volumization, and it’s a perfect addition to the Liquid Face Lift we specialize in here at RR Aesthetics.
The other benefit of Voluma is the Vycross ™ technology: Vycross™ produces an efficient and tightly cross-linked gel, which contributes to its lift capacity and duration. Juvederm Voluma is the first injectable HA filler that is approved to temporarily correct age-related volume loss in the cheek area. It is the newest generation of filler in Allergan’s portfolio; VOLUMA has results that can last up to 24 months or longer.
We hope to see Voluma on the market within the next few weeks to months. The addition of Voluma to our injectable practice in Beverly Hills will provide smooth, natural results for our clients.
